Discrimination Dispute Resolution and Grievance Procedure
The Oneida Crisis Center (OCC) does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, familial or marital status, handicap/disability, or veteran status in the administration of any of its services, employment, programs, or admissions policies.
If you feel that there has been unfair action taken against you due to your affiliation with one of the protected classes listed above, or have a grievance, you may file a grievance and request resolution. If you are a person with disabilities and require a reasonable accommodation to navigate the grievance process, please inform OCC of the need for accommodation.
OCC will investigate and respond to grievances in a timely manner. All grievances must be submitted in writing to:
Oneida Crisis Center
Attention: Grievance Review
P.O. Box 174
Malad, Idaho 83252
The grievance must identify which policies, practices, principles or values are believed to have been violated. The written statement should also include any attempts already made towards resolving the issue as well as desired outcomes or proposed remedies, if applicable. The Executive Director may ask that you state your case with the alleged offending party present so that both sides of the issue are equally represented or they may interview you both separately. If you wish to have your grievance reviewed in an interview separate from the alleged offending party, please identify this in your statement.
If the Executive Director is part of the alleged grievance issue or does not indicate a nonpartisan interest, address the grievance to: Oneida Crisis Center Board; attention: Grievance Review with the above referenced address.
You may inform the Executive Director of your wish to bring the case before the Oneida Crisis Center Board at any time during the review process. Your written dispute or grievance will be forwarded to the Board President along with the Executive Director’s written statement concerning the issue. The Oneida Crisis Center Board President will arrange a time within ten (10) working days for you to present your case to the Board. They will also interview the alleged offending party and make a final decision by which all parties must abide. The Board’s written response will be issued within two (2) business days of the meeting. Their response will be mailed or delivered electronically to all parties.
If the final ruling requires removal from the program, the date of removal shall not be before the final decision. You may, however, loose certain privileges, at the discretion of the Executive Director, until the issue is resolved.
You may also elect to file complaints alleging discrimination with the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance (ICDVVA) and/or the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
